Republic Day 2024 Live Updates: President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag at Kartavya Path. The parade has commenced from New Delhi’s Vijay Chowk, following the route from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path.

India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day today i.e. on 26th January 2024. This year French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest.

“At 8 am, President Droupadi Murmu will hoist the national flag at Kartavya Path. The theme for Republic Day 2024 is ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Loktatantra ki Matruka.’

The parade, starting at 10:30 am (IST) from Vijay Chowk in New Delhi, will follow the route from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path, commencing at Rashtrapati Bhawan and proceeding along the Rajpath.”

The venue will accommodate approximately 77,000 people, with 42,000 reserved for the general public.

Numerous tableaus will showcase India’s rich cultural history, culture, and tradition. The cultural pageantry of the R-Day includes vibrant fold dance performances and patriotic songs.

This year’s top attractions include a women’s tri-service group parade, a French contingent to join the R-Day parade, six Indians to join the French military team in the Republic Day parade, AI to take space in the parade, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 to be highlighted.

The only serving horsed cavalry regiment in the world led the Indian Army contingent at the 75th Republic Day parade on the Kartavya Path on Friday, followed by mechanised columns. The contingent of the 61st Cavalry of the army was led by Major Yashdeep Ahlawat. Raised in 1953, this is the only serving horse-mounted cavalry regiment in the world, with an amalgamation of all “State Horsed Cavalry Units”. The mounted cavalry was followed by main battle tanks T-90 ‘Bhishma’, the NAG missile system, a tank destroyer indigenously designed by the DRDO, and infantry combat and all-terrain vehicles.

Indian Navy tableau highlights the themes of ‘Nari Shakti and ‘Atmanirbharta’, also shows the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and Navy ships Delhi, Kolkata and Shivalik and Kalavari Class Submarine.
